Please join us for our annual NETWORKING EVENT!

This year we have also added a charitable component:

As an extension of our mission to promote educational opportunities within the world of alternative finance, we will be adding something new to the agenda for the September networking event. This year, SAIA is going to invest in one or more of our local non-profits who are making great strides in mathematics, financial literacy and community development through their work in our community. But we need your help in determining where it goes! The Board and Officers of SAIA have selected three local non-profits. At the event, each member will receive a ticket whereby they can vote to allocate 100% or some portion thereof to one or more of the organizations listed below. At the end of the night, we will tally the amounts and send a check in that amount to each of the three. In preparation of the event, here is a small excerpt of the non-profits selected for this year:

Craft3: A community development finance institution, Craft3 is a regional nonprofit offering financial services to the unbanked and underbanked communities of Oregon and Washington. Their work strives to strengthen the resilience of businesses, families and nonprofits, including those without access to traditional financing. Since inception, Craft3 has invested more than $488 million in over 5,990 people and businesses in our region.

Zeno Math:  Zeno is a non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington looking to inspire kids to love math! Their work aims to build young children’s early math skills by equipping families with fun and engaging tools to create the math foundation for a future of limitless opportunity. We focus on serving families of color in low-income communities through partnerships with community-based organizations and early learning programs.

Financial Beginnings:  A non-profit based in Portland, Oregon, Financial Beginnings mission is to be the pathway to a financially literate nation. Through trained affiliate partners, Financial Beginnings teaches basic financial literacy to students, prison populations and community groups so that they can improve their financial well-being and quality of life. Their programs serve all groups, but focus on populations most in need to improve their access to life opportunities such as home ownership, higher education, and secure retirement.

This is only possible through the ongoing and growing support of our members and sponsors, so we look forward to raising a glass with each of you on the 20th!
